| Wednesday, October 6th Echoes Program 1040C Hanging on a Hang Drum The Hang Drum, pronounced “hung,” was invented at the turn of this century in Switzerland. Resembling two woks glued together, it has a sound that can be as soft as a kalimba or as vibrant as a steel drum. We’ll hear music for the hang ranging from world fusion to modern jazz, including performances by R. Carlos Nakai, Portico Quartet, Jeff Ball, Dante Bucci and more. |
